Modernisation and globalisation have the potential to increase human welfare, justice and peace. However at the moment it is also threatening the cultural identity and knowledge especially of small traditional cultures and communities. This doesn’t have to be the case: progress and cultural survival can go hand in hand. The pictures found in this collection celebrate the diversity of culture and richness of indigenous intangible cultural assets. Without these our world would be a poorer place.
